Geno Smith Escorted off airplane by police for verbal altercation

Apparently he was upset with their seating policy. Can't you see Brady, Manning or Rodgers doing this?

Geno Smith Allegedly Escorted Off Plane By LAX Cops [UPDATE]
Geno Smith Allegedly Escorted Off Plane By LAX Cops [UPDATE]
SEXPAND
Jets quarterback Geno Smith was apparently escorted off a Virgin America flight at LAX today by police after what a witness called a "verbal altercation."

The photo you see above was sent to us by a reader who witnessed the incident and says the shot came "moments before" Smith was escorted out of the airport by cops. Our tipster wasn't the only person who saw it:

@JimmyTraina I don't have video, but I'm at LAX and just saw a Geno Smith fiasco yelling at Virgin America workers. Escorted by cops LOL

— Mark Rue (@markyOso) January 17, 2014
We're working on getting more details, but it looks like Geno's weekend isn't off to a great start.

Update (7:11 p.m.): Our tipster fills in some details:

We were waiting for our flight at LAX to Vegas and were put on standby on Virgin American just like Geno. We were told to get seat assignment at 2:40. Apparently Geno was not on board with that. My friend walked over to discuss seat assignment and Geno was saying to airline ticket agents, "**** that, this is bullshit." "Why the **** do I have to wait until 2:40." He would not let it go. He continued to curse and be loud for about 5 minutes. Police were called. They talked for a few minutes and then 3 officers escorted him out of the terminal.

Shit, if Geno didn't go full reerun at the end of their first matchup, he would have swept you guys in his rookie year. He only lost by 3 to you guys in fox borough.

It's a shame that if he didnt throw those picks at the very end, he would have taken a shit team to the playoffs as a rookie and people call him a bust because he was inconsistent.

I didn't offer excuses. You posted some bullshit to distract from the reality that Smith sucked ass in his rookie season. I simply noted the poor example you used and pointed out some of the reasons why it was a poor example. Using early season games involving the Patriots is boneheaded, considering all that team was going through at the time.

In the end, despite all the problems, the Patriots finished at 12-4 and are in the AFCCG. In the end, despite the pair of gifted games, the Jets finished 8-8 and Smith basically repeated Sanchez' rookie year in terms of his play.

Agreed.

Barkevious Mingo would have been a phenomenal pick..as would Patterson, Richardson, Lotuleuiiioue, moving the pick for Percy Harvin, Ansah, Vaccaro...the list goes on and on. Just think of this defense with a guy like Vaccaro instead of Kendrick Lewis...MIND=BLOWN

In terms of physical talent relative to the position they play, Fisher probably shows more potential than Geno does. Of course reaching potential is an entirely different argument.
The only reason I brought him up was the shot about "haha you wanted Geno at 1...haha"

Which is better?

Having a first round quarterback sit for a year or two and develop

Or

Having an OL drafted at 1 that is terrible his rookie year (and should have sat)

Mark Sanchez had a stacked team around him. Geno didn't.

Nobody pounded the board with Fisher cock sucking and attacked anyone who disagreed.

Those responses should be expected.

On this board, probably not. Among the general sporting public, I think many, if not a majority would agree. I think a lot of people would put soccer goalie up there too, although I didn't. Hockey requires you to wear a ton of gear, skate, and face a small puck that's going 100 mph. But all goalie positions basically have no backup, you have a bad game and your team is going to lose. It's not as cerebral as QB or being a baseball catcher though.

That all just really depends. I think Geno was very good in college, really improved as the year went on this year and showed promise. But even now you're still acting like we missed out on a sure #1 pick. He hasn't demonstrated that level of talent yet. I like Geno but I don't see what separates him from Tannehill and Bridgewater and the like. Why are we going to spend the next 3 years banging this drum? He's not the last QB prospect ever, we need to quit acting like it.

And tackle is a very important position. Especially if we can't retain Albert. It's not as important as QB, but it's not like we drafted a MLB at 1.

How am I making it out like he was a sure fire number one pick?

I've said all along that I thought Geno would have to sit and learn for at least 1 full season. That's doesnt equate to "sure fire first round pick"

When you draft a player in the first round, you own his rights for 5 years and Alex Smith will be 30 by the time the draft rolls around.

They wanted him to wait 10 minutes for a seat assignment, and he threw such a fit that he was escorted out of the airport.
