Computers Every CP page auto-scrolls to the bottom

I have been having an annoying issue on my home PC where if I go to any page within CP it starts to load then I get a (Not responding) message on the browser tab, then when it does finish loading it auto-scrolls to the bottom of the page. This is true on the Lounge main page, any thread I enter whether I am going in by clicking on the thread link or the Go To Next Unread link, and even on the page I opened to start this thread.

I am running Win 10. This is happening in Chrome, Edge, and even IE. I also have a laptop (Windows 7) on the same network (although wireless instead of direct connect) that does not have this issue.

Anyone else seeing this? Any ideas on how to get this annoyance to go away?

That was checked by default but turning it off has not changed the behavior.

BTW, I am not seeing this occurring on any other sites either so I suspect it may be vBulletin related.

I do see it there on the forum level page only. I will do more looking into possible vBulletin issues.

It's likely an issue with one of the ads at the bottom. I had that problem for a while and it was so frustrating I ended up installing an adblocker, eventually blacklisting the correct ad address. For some reason, one particular ad grabs focus on the page, which immediately pulls your scroll bar to the ad at the bottom. It can be indication of malware, but not always. Run a Malwarebytes scan just to be safe.

I did run a quick MalWareBytes scan last night. I meant to set up a full scan before I went to bed but forgot. I will try to remember to do that tonight.

The scan did pick up a couple of things but even after a reboot I was still having the same issue.

Gee thanks. I am quite sure that closing the browser window will be helpful (my wife might like that idea though!).

That's been happening to me, as well. Pages take forever to load, and then when they do it starts you off at the bottom of the page. When it happens, I run Malwarebytes and HitmanPro. Seems to clear up the issue for a bit. I was starting to think I got thrown on the MU list, lol.

I've been having a similar problem on Imgur. Takes forever to load a page, but it doesn't auto scroll me to the bottom. Fish is probably on to something with the ads on the pages.

Had the same issue for awhile. It would load, then center on whatever ad was at the bottom of the page. Can't honestly remember what I did to fix it, but I'm going to guess blocking whatever ad it was.

I had the problem. Installed an ad blocker and the problem disappeared, so it looks like Fish got it right earlier in the thread.
