Each place kinda has their specialties... IMO, Arthur Bryants does a lot really well, Gates has the best burnt ends, Jack Stack has the best beans, OK Joe's is probably best overall....

Hey I'm from New Orleans and living in Houston.
So if I was to go to KC (never been) where should I eat BBQ first? |

I like Jack Stack a lot, but it definitely is more of a nice restaurant that serves really good BBQ than a pure "BBQ Joint."

Bull ****ing shit. Whether it's eaten with a fork or your hands, good BBQ is good BBQ.

I'll admit, most of my opinion on Jack Stack is from their burnt ends. I'm on record here for hating their burnt ends - not because it's bad food, but because THEY'RE NOT BURNT ENDS! It's cubed brisket, and that ain't burnt ends. It's actually good BBQ, just don't get their burnt ends.

Honestly the food truck at McGonigle's is the most consistent BBQ I've had in this town. Pulled pork sandwich is awesome, burnt end sandwich is ****ing spectacular...for my money and convenience I go there 9 times out of 10 when I want BBQ.

Bummer... I haven't had any at a restaurant in aboit 5 years. SC and AL barbecuers know nothing of the KC delicacy.
