Yeah, square pizzas were awesome back in the day. Probably taste like shit now, but in my mind it was the greatest.

I always brought my lunch the school food was disgusting and I saw a couple of times where kids would puke in their lunch trays and the school washed them instead of throwing them away. That was a big turn off.

Chicken Nugget Day was the best - green gravy over mashers, + bbq sauce for dipping, I'd double down on those days.

The hi-c was just 'meh' tho.

I remember once i made it to 7th at Hal McCarter - we'd get offered Malts in the line. That felt like a certain freedom at the time.

As a fat kid, I was constantly asking other kids if "they were going to eat that."

It felt like a certain freedom at the time.

By the time I got to HS they had the normal hot meal, but added another area that offered other typical lunch fare (deli sandwiches, etc.). It was actually pretty good, but we'd have to make our road trip to Smak's once a week.

For a strange reason I really enjoyed those awful burgers. Surely soy-based. Nothing but ketchup on mine thanks.

one time in 1st grade we had spinach and my teacher made me eat some:

teacher: sec, why aren't you eating your spinach?
me: can't. i'm allergic to it.
teacher: what's it do to you?
me: makes me puke.
teacher: well, we want our students to try everything on their plate. take a bite.

so i take a bite and puke all over the table and down my shirt.
old bitch drags me back to the classroom and makes me write 30 times: "i will not throw up in the lunchroom on purpose."

****in old bitch...
sec

Chose the lunch box from home over the tv dinner like hot meal option until 6th at a school with no real cafeteria, then went to a school with "family style" meals you had to pay for in the tuition and use manners and everything. They weren't that great, but they eventually added salad tables that were pretty good and the lunch ladies were really nice.
