Seriously, someone explain why holding rarely gets called against Hali?

We have seen it time and time again. Game after game. Play after play. Game threads are filled with pages of people (including myself) complaining about flags not being thrown for holding Tamba Hali.

So what is it we are missing or not understanding? What constitutes a hold and what is a legal block that apparently looks like holding to a lot of us here?

Are the Refs really turning a blind eye that often? Or are we as fans just not understanding the rules?

I'm not bitching, I am asking. I want to know what it is that keeps the flag in their pocket? If they aren't holds explain what it is I and others are misinterpreting?

You can grab and engage a rusher as long as it is inside his pads (unwritten rule). You can't wrap your arm around his neck, and you can't grab and pull him down anywhere. If he's getting bulldogged by a LT, it should be a flag, and it's being missed.

Ok, so you are saying then when we see a O-lineman with his arm around Hali's chest or up around his neck that should be called holding?

All good pass rushers are held all time. There isn't a conspiracy against Hali.

This. Watch any NFL game. It's ALL about making sure the QB doesn't get hurt.

It's all part of Buddy Biancalana's master plan for KC to celebrate another championship on the 25th anniversary of the last one. Hali learns from the holds, and beast mode is on the last 8 games of this year.

It's how holding in the NFL is called. Every speedy pass rusher gets held the same way Hali does. You wont find it in a rulebook, it's just a judgment call and a feel thing.
