I'm more optimistic after seeing the presser... but I will withhold full judgement until I've heard who he is hiring for Defensive Coordinator.

Charlie knows offense... no denying that. Defense? His teams have sucked.

Weis I understand. Grunhard I kind of understand. If you're trying to lock up the St. Pious X or Miege squads i understand it. Grunhard's only name recognition is in this area. Plus, he's a quitter. I'll never forget the game in Atlanta where Gunther was a dead man walking and Grunhard was laughing it up and wearing a Falcons hat on the Chiefs sideline while we got thrashed.

A safe but underwhelming hire.

I think it was a very smart hire for KU. He knows he has issues with defense, and I suspect he'll swallow his pride and import talent there. I also agree he brought a name that's know locally, has favor (because we all think he was smarter than Haley), so within the "local" recruiting area, he's thought of as a winner. So overall, it was a good hire. I think their program will move forward very quickly. And our Missouri school will be stuck with Gary!

That being said, A) basketball doesn't matter - never has, never will - nobody cares, and B) get a wrestling program!!! Sheesh, there are plenty of quality wrestlers in Kansas, and neither school has a program for them to move into "in state". Stunning!!!

Go Navy....beat Army!!!

Teams use the spread offense because most teams don't have enough depth, especially in the secondary to cover it. ESPN states that less than 50 programs use a spread offense. It was written in January, but still shows use is down in the FBS.

I don't recall that. I don't doubt it, but what a shitty thing to do.

You know, I remember a cop friend of mine who would work as security during chiefs games / practice and he would say the same things about Grunny. He would tell me that during practice he was always taking plays off and screwing around and such. Interesting when you hear the same things from other people.

Most QB's tend to improve thier 2nd year as starter genius. It's not a surprising or earth shattering thing that his play improved and it more than likely would have happened without Rascal boy.

You know when Grunhard played I really liked how hard he played and was an anchor on a great line.

But the above incident and him admitting it in the press really soured me on him. And what sealed it was when I went to an event he was invited to attend as a guest and his behavior was prickish. Almost like we should all be honored to be in his presence.

Ha ha yeah. It's not like Weis has made several QBs look better than they really are or anything.
