Knile has 3.5 YPC behind a bad blocking OL and a QB who can't stretch the defense. And Sherman is one of the better FBs in the league.

The TEs are solid. More than adequate weapons for a QB.
No team is at full health and no team ever will be at full health.

Further, hanging a hat on a top 3 defense means exactly **** all when a quarterback can't overcome a 8+ point deficit, because no defense will ever allow less than an average of 17 points a game.

The problems begin with a bad GM, a terrible head coach and end with a glorified backup at QB. Jettisoning Bowe, being cheap with Houston and likely letting Houston walk are a product of these three things.

In short, until this regime realizes they are now three years late on orchestrating a rebuild with a true franchise QB, they're going nowhere.

There's no reason to debate this. End of story.

I really don't want to see Bowe leave, as I have always been a huge fan of his. But given the amount of money he is owed, it makes no sense to keep him on the roster if we have a QB who cant utilize him properly.

The Chiefs ended up #7 in defense and #3 in points defense. Without 2 pro bowl starters in DJ and Berry. Without DeVito. With Fleming/Gaines/Owens missing significant time to injury. That is a lot of injuries. And the defense still played well.

You said we did a half ass job at rebuilding. I didn't say anything about the QB.

Never said the defense played bad. Point is you trumped up this hypothetical that the defense is top three if it stays healthy, which isn't happening.

You said we did a half ass job at rebuilding. I didn't say anything about the QB.

It's because they did and are doing a half assed job. Why re-sign Bowe if you're just going to cut him barely three years later? Why re-sign Jamaal Charles when he's about to fall off a cliff of production? Why trade for a "game manager" QB that can't come from behind and why overpay him? Why not trade JC and Houston when they are at their highest value?

The Chiefs were likely four seasons away from being a playoff team when Reid was hired in January of 2013. They are still four seasons away from being a playoff team two years later.

Then you should have just said that. I don't like our QB. But it's completely wrong to say the Chiefs haven't built a lot of talent around him or are approaching this rebuild half-ass.

.. but they are half assing it because the Chiefs let their best offensive lineman walk in FA last season, they will likely do so again this year and are looking to double down on this by letting their best WR hit FA.

There is. Holy ****ing hell. Two of your comments (about Houston) are talking about shit that hasn't even happened yet.

Perhaps you should read better. There's no debating that this team is capable of winning a playoff game and won't be in the future because they have delayed rebuilding three years in a row now.

The Chiefs were #2 in points defense without the hypothetical. I think most would agree that losing 2 pro bowl starters and 3 starters overall within pretty much the first week of the season is an unusual circumstance.

Is this just inner monologue? The Chiefs were a better team this year than last year. Much better.

They made the playoffs last year. They missed the playoffs by 1 game despite an unusually unlucky string of injuries.

Houston and Bowe haven't been cut yet. We don't know who they plan to replace them with.

I read exactly what Pasta Meatball read. You're bitching about a Houston non-move that hasn't happened yet. It's right there in plain writing.
