He's a rare pass rushing talent, who's young and is only going to get better. THis time next year, he could be the best defensive player in the AFC. He's that talented.

I'm not letting that walk.

If you weren't insane when it comes to QBs, you'd be a solid poster. Williams fumbled in OT, because he brain locked, and he did it at a spot on the field where the Giants were well within field goal range once they recovered it. He had previously coughed up the football at the SF 29, on a muffed catch, which means that the Giants were already in FG range when they recovered that one, too.

Yes, Williams gets the blame. He gets it because he deserves it.

At least then we'd have our next RT of the future and more depth at OLB...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Yep, I'm insane.

Because I think a guy who completed 46% of his passes and was something like 3/16 on 3rd down didn't play well enough. I'm not sure how the bar could be set any lower.

This place never ceases to amaze. Roethlisberger, Eli and Flacco? No credit. Carried by their defenses.

Instead, let's give credit to the guy who did even less for his team, and blame someone else solely for the loss.

The CP Way.

Well, good thing Smith is a 1st rd QB then, eh? AND is already been through the awful progression of shit personnel and coaching.. So he is now all the better for it.

Would just give all the people that want to hate him but were starting to like him now go back to their natural position of hating him. The world can go back to its perfect balance.

Your and idiot... for multiple reasons. (1) bringing this game back up yet again as if one game just defines a player. (2) Alex had terrible receivers to throw to, and even Crabtree seemed embarrassed that he couldn't get open when keyed upon. Smith threw two TDs and SF was on their way to winning, had Kyle W not shit all over himself. Eli and all his weapons couldn't do much either. (3) you just fukking suck dick.. as a person and supposed fan. DIAF

I don't want to see Smith bend KC over for 18 mil per year... and I still don't think he will or wants to. If KC can lock him up with 15 mil per and pretty well guaranteed he's their starter for the next 2 seasons? Maybe add some hard to reach incentives to that 15? then great...

One, I didn't bring up the game. Someone else did.

Two, save the ****ing excuses. We've heard them all before. They don't fly for other QB's around the league when they are discussed here, so enough of the double standard bullshit.

No, you're insane because you argue the same bullshit about QBs over and over, despite having been demonstrably wrong. Trying to distract from that by minimizing just how much Williams did to blow that NFCCG game is just pettiness.

He's only been great against back-up level talent and rookies. He has never faced the best blocker on the opposing team and has always had the benefit of Hali playing opposite of him. Despite this fact, he has never been among the top 10 sack leaders in a season. He's good but isn't the talent that you are making him out to be.

Please, explain how I'm "wrong".

And while you're doing that, please show me where I "minimize" Williams' fumbles and blame Smith solely.

Both played a role.

But one plays the most important position in the sport, while the other is a punt returner. To say Smith played well enough is laughable. Basically, you're saying with that defense, just this side of a corpse would have been good enough.

46% passing and 3/16 on 3rd down doesn't help your team win - it's hanging on for dear life.

And you ignore the fact that had Alex Smith converted just one third down when it mattered, that Williams might never have been given the chance to be the goat.

1 of 13 on third down conversion attempts, with that single conversion coming as time ran out in the first half.
