I've been saying all along that JGs problem in racing is that he's too committed to family out of racing. I've said he's not long the most skilled driver out there (because I think he takes to few opportunities to keep his skills honed to a razor-sharp edge), and that I don't think he's got much of a chance to fix it this year.

I've offered what I think would go a long way to solving the problem (regardless of how it's played in the past), and how to make the sport more fun to watch. But I know they won't listen no matter how right I am. They are NASCAR!

But the difference between this and much smaller things like letting a teammate pass you, harmlessly, to get five points back in race 'single digit' is that these idiots all but let people hear them make the call to do something harmful.

That being said, if all that happened here was one car pit to help his team mate, I'd tell NASCAR to suck it up and listen to my other thoughts to help fix their problems.

All that happened here was that NASCAR's goofy rules got exposed. But the right turn was too much to not address and try to make right.

Think of it like this, had the NFL had recordings where the Saints had called for bounty shots from open Mic conversations, do you think the NFL would have had to go about things like they did? I think if they had such recordings, they would have laid the hammer on them.

But alas, we'll never really know because the Saints didn't announce it so blatantly.

Just ask NASCAR to ask me how to fix their problems and I'll be right with them...

While I agree with you, I also add that they didn't change any rules, they simply did what they had to do to right a wrong. they were in a tough spot because their silly rules were exposed, so they took the only out that they thought they could, and went back to putting their heads in the sand and hoping it'll all go away soon.

And for me this isn't about JG, he doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning, so putting him in wasn't a good PR move (since so many people don't appreciate his awesomeness!! ) on NASCAR's part.

I just hope somebody let's NASCAR's leadership know they're just dumb and fat and they need to speak to GloryDayz to fix all that ails them...

I stopped following NASCAR when I was a kid and Dale died. Just started to follow again the past year plus. So my question is, have incidents like this been caught on radio in recent years? I know all the gamesmanship that goes on, but has NASCAR caught cars talking so matter-of-fact on the radio in the final races up to the Chase? That is really my thought process, that as the governing body if you have clear evidence of cheating you need to address it. Overlooking the things that have always been allowed is one thing, but when it's right up front with clear evidence I think you have to do something about it.

OK, a few things, 1) walking in the door on the last last last blows, 2) being the NNS make #1 less of a problem, and 3) for all of you thinking I'm so much of a JG "homer" (vs. just a fan), THIS is part of the problem....so there!

No, this really was the first time in the last race that this happened...and blatantly to boot.

Having let this stand would have set an awful precedent and Nascar had to do something otherwise the Richmond race would have become an utter joke.

Like I said before, it was a great race until the final 10 laps...then the shenanigans began.
