Option A: Trade out, in particular if the Pats did want Gholston that would be perfect. I'd go way undervalue on the swap just to get out of the position. Then we could select Ellis at 7 and pay him way less.
Option B: Select Ellis and pay him #5 pick money unfortunately. The ideal situation for us would be if ATL selects Ryan or if STl/ATL trade out there pick to someone who wants Ryan. Then we could get C Long, who'd be ideal for us. |

I am still crossing my fingers that Al does something stupid (not unheard of, right?) and lets Dorsey slip through his fingers and takes McFadden at #4.
#2 - Long - Rams #3 - Ryan - Falcons #4 - McFadden - Raiders #5 - Dorsey - Chiefs |

Well there's lots of options.
We could look to trade down a couple of spots and still get Ellis who could simply end up a better player than Gohlston. we could draft Ellis. we could draft Ryan. Or we could just draft Gholston.... He is the 2nd highest rated DE in this draft after all. My preference would be to trade down for Ellis (or just draft him) or take Ryan. |

Vernon Gholston at 6'3" and 265 is also a protypical DE in a cover two.
The Chiefs base defense is a cover two, but Gunt also likes to mix it up. Gholston's athleticism and versatility could actually make chicken salad out of Gunt's chicken shit mad scheming.

The last couple weeks this place has gotten me to confused who to draft right now.
I honestly think the Chiefs will trade down a few spots and take Clady. |

Either that or we will continue trading down until we have 20 4th rd picks and hope to strike Allen type gold again.

If he's the best player on our board, take him. I'm not sure what is confusing about that.

If they take Clady, with any pick, I'm flying to Chicago and shooting Frazod's refrigerator.

Now I know Im not the biggest Sedrick Ellis supporter, but in our system... with the rarity of that level of player at his position we take him. However if the top 4 is:
1. J.Long 2. C.Long 3. Dorsey 4. McFadden I feel pretty safe trading to Patriots at 7. Partly because I dont think the Jets will take Ellis (they could however trade down with Saints or Cincy) and partly because I think Ryan is ok at 7. |

I'd like to add another option, it should be considered B2. It has higher risk than B1 but could work out better.
Option B2: Pull a Vikings and just let the pick slide. If the draft were to go down in that fashion it's almost certain the Jets would select Gholston or Ryan. If the Jets select Fools Gholdston then it gets a bit dicey. The pats might select Ellis themselves or they might trade out of it to Cinci or someone who would like Ellis. If you could sneak past the Pats, say they draft Albert. Then the Ravens would definately select Ryan at 8, and we could be right on their heels with our Ellis pick at 9. It would save us millions in cap space. Unfortunately, I think the Pats would screw it up. |
