Donkey Killer wins 2 weeks in a row

Hall Wins Back-To-Back AFC Special Teams Player of the Week Awards

Dec 28, 2004, 1:29:04 PM

The National Football League informed the Chiefs on Tuesday that WR Dante Hall has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for the second consecutive week after his performance in a 31-30 win over the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. This marks the second straight season that he has won back-to-back honors, after earning AFC Special Teams Player of the Week four straight times in 2003. Overall, it is the seventh time in his career he has been chosen for the award, passing WR Tamarick Vanover (six times) for most AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors in Chiefs history.

A week after returning the opening kickoff for a 97-yard touchdown in a win vs. Denver (12/19), Hall (5-8, 187) again played a major role in a Chiefs victory over an AFC West rival. Hall registered six kickoff returns for 175 yards (29.2 avg.), including a 49-yard return to set up the game-winning score. With Kansas City trailing Oakland 30-28 and only 1:07 remaining in the game, Hall returned the Raiders kickoff to the Oakland 36-yard line, allowing the Chiefs to move into field goal range for the game-winning 38-yard field goal by K Lawrence Tynes.
The five-year veteran has returned 63 kickoffs for 1,633 yards (25.9 avg.) and 22 punts for 231 yards (10.5 avg.) so far in 2004. Hall became the Chiefs single-season record holder for kickoff returns and kickoff return yards on his first return of the game. He ranks second in the AFC and fourth in the NFL with a 25.9 kickoff return average. He ranks first in team history with 237 kickoff returns and 5,792 kickoff return yards.

The Texas A&M product was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week four consecutive weeks in 2003 when he returned a kick for a touchdown an NFL record four straight games. Hall scored on a 100-yard and a 97-yard kickoff return vs. Pittsburgh (9/14/03) and at Baltimore (9/28/03) respectively. He also had a 73-yard punt return at Houston (9/21/03) and added a 93 yarder vs. Denver (10/5/03).

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

How cool would that be to mount a camera inside Dantes helmet and see the whole experience from his perspective. From the moment he gets the ball and then returning it.

They need more perspectives like that
