Early Afternoon Bullshit: Who's planning to attend the playoff game?

Granted, nothing is set in stone yet as far as positioning is concerned, but who's thinking of making a trip to see the Wild Card game?

Per cdcox, we're around 96% to end up the 5th seed, and Indy is 88% to finish as the 4th seed. I've already booked a room in both Indy and Cincinnati, just to make sure I'm covered - and to get something booked before prices rise even further.

After doing some research, you can plan on spending a pretty penny in Indy - downtown hotels are obnoxiously expensive - $150 and up for Saturday night. Only way to stay cheap is to stay 6-7 miles away out by the airport and drive in on gameday. Cincinnati is cheaper, but downtown options are pretty limited.

So - who's going?

My daughter and I are going if they come to Indy. We live in Zionsville, so no long road trip for us. I've gone to every Colts/Chiefs game here in Indy since I moved out here in 1995---all losses.

My guess is that there will be tickets available, especially if the Colts keep stumbling. They've already clinched the division, but there isn't much fervor out here about their chances. They've really slipped since the Bronco game when Wayne got hurt.

IIRC, Herm went full reerun with the offense that day, or we could have had a shot at knocking them out. The defense played tough until the end when they were completely out of gas.

I would suggest making reservations well in advance for a Friday evening.

Also, the Colts defense was TERRIBLE that year. Really terrible. They gave up 300 or 400 rushing yards to Jacksonville a couple weeks before... and we had Larry Johnson. All of a sudden they flipped a switch in the playoffs though.

Correct. I think they were running the 32 defense, right up until they played us in the playoffs. Carried that through the Super Bowl.

Didn't they win something like 19-8, with us picking Manning off three times?

Herm went full reerun with the offense on the day he was hired. He was complaining about Green taking too many risks with the ball before training camp. "Circus offense." Epically horrible HC hire. I was happy to go to the playoffs due to the amazing series of outcomes needed to make that happen, but the game unfolded exactly as I expected on that side of the ball.

If we were running the Vermeil/Saunders offense, and hadn't run LJ into the ground all season long, we would have easily won that game. Green's early season injury put more pressure on LJ, but Herm dismantled that offense due to his own idiotic notions.
