Tell me this is a joke
This article was posted at the coalition site. Someone tell me this is a brushback.com joke. 1st rounder for Boller? Jeff George? Elvis Grbac????
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Knight-Rider) -- Trent Green sustained a "very severe concussion" when his head was slammed into the ground by Cincinnati Bengal Robert Geathers. Prelimary examinations revealed some head trauma, and Green will be hospitalized at least until Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs said. "He's feeling much better," Chiefs president Carl Peterson said Monday. "But he has a very kind-sized headache. Hopefully he'll be able to go home tomorrow." The two-time Pro bowl quarterback will be listed as questionable this week at Denver. Peterson said he didn't know when Green might return. Losing Green for long could be devastating to the Chiefs. Starting at Denver will be journeyman Damon Huard, who until Sunday had not completed a pass in the NFL since Dec. 24, 2000. Behind Huard are rookies Brodie Croyle and Casey Printers, who were both unimpressive in the preseason. "There's no question this will test the football team," Peterson said. "Trent Green has been a tremendous leader for us both on and off the field. We're anticipating that Trent will get through this and get well and be back with us. At this point, though, I wouldn't put any time on it." "It will be a day-to-day, week-to-week evaluation by the doctors," said Peterson. "Thank goodness he had no problems with his limbs." Meanwhile, rumors have circulated that Peterson has been in contact with a number of free agent Quarterbacks. Sources close to Peterson told Knight Rider that Peterson has scheduled workouts with Jeff George, Trent Dilfer and former Chiefs QB Elvis Grbac. Rumors indicate Peterson has offered the Chiefs' 2007 1st round draft choice to Baltimore for backup QB Kyle Boller. Neither team would deny or confirm this, but Peterson fueled speculation when his response to the Boller trade, "Kyle has been unjustly criticized in my estimation. We were very high on Kyle Boller coming out of college, and I wouldn't rule out anything at this juncture." To say Boller has been a major disappointment to Baltimore is an understatement. The Ravens would be ecstatic to dump Boller and his high dollar contract onto the Chiefs. In spite of the Raven's providing some of the best pass protection in the league, Boller suffered through a miserable '05 season with the third lowest QB rating in the NFL. He completed just over 50% of his passes, had seven fumbles and threw 12 interceptions with only 11 TDs and less than 2000 yards. As badly as Boller played in 2005, it was an improvement on a nightmarish '04 season were he averaged almost one fumble per game, threw 11 interceptions and finished last in the AFC in QB rating. Boller's inability to hold onto the ball and lack of any noticable improvement prompted the Ravens to trade for veteran Steve McNair before the 2006 season. It's hard to picture Boller in Chiefs' red or to imagine Kansas City reaching for a player like Kyle Boller. But Damon Huard has been unimpressive and neither Broadie Croyle nor Casey Printers are considered game ready. "We're going to do what we've always done, " said a confident Peterson, "and if that means trading a couple of draft choices or one or two of our rookie prospects to get a solid player who can start now, we're going to do that. We have an obligation to Kansas City and the Chiefs organization to put a quality team on the field, and we intend to move quickly to solve this problem." Recommendation: Not surprising, given the way Green's head and neck snapped back after a third quarter hit that caused him to be taken off the field on a stretcher Sunday. Chiefs president Carl Peterson virtually ruled out Green for this week's game and called it a "day-to-day/week-to-week" thing. Damon Huard will temporarily fill in for Green while he is out, with Brodie Croyle as the backup until a deal can be consumated with Baltimore for Kyle Boller. Look for a giddy Ravens team to send an overpriced Boller to the Chiefs. Sources indicate Peterson has offered rookie Brodie Croyle and the team's first round draft selection in the 2007 NFL draft for Kyle Boller. It's hard for this reporter to see the Ravens dragging their feet on this one. Updated on Monday, Sep 11, 2006 5:27 pm EDT |

Hey Boller could destroy first round picks for two teams. That's a great talent of his.

If that trade goes down for boeler for Croyle and a first rounder I'd be so damned pissed that I'd finally join in on the CP hatred with everybody else. Even just trading our first rounder would be the dumbest move in the world. He better not even be considering sending our first rounder, or Croyle for that matter.

Seriously, I'd consider Trent Dilfer. The guy can manage a game.
A first round pick for Boller is so ridiculous that it makes me question the entire story.

Trent Dilfer is the absolute best case scenario for us this year. When I lived in Seattle I developed a real respect for Dilfer. He is a knowledgable, competitive guy. He would be able to pick this offense up quickly, and he would take the leadership role Green has in his absence. He will also be the first to defer back to Green when he's ready to go again. If we could steal this guy from the 49ers, I'd be thrilled. |

The fact that Grbac was listed on there makes this a totally fake (but quite funny) report.

Off subject, What is GrBac up to these days? Anybody know?
For some reason, I picture him living like Millhouses dad in a divorcee apartment complex. |
