River or lake?
Which setting do you prefer to camp in?

The river - Set up camp, grab your canoe or inner tube, a cooler of beer and sandwiches, and hit the river! Get back to camp, and heat up the fire.

The lake - Set up camp, grab the boat, a cooler of beer, and your fishing gear and hit the lake! Get back to camp, clean fish, and heat up the fire.

I'm torn. I love to go floating, but I love fresh fish. I think I'd have to go for the river. Nothing like a lazy day on the river, stopping to swim and eat, and then getting back on the river.

If I have a motor boat the lakes are fine, if not love tubing on the rivers. There are some good ones in Mo and Ark. Also on the river you can fish for trout.

We have ground along the Missouri River and hunt ducks there. But for fishing, lakes the Quetico boundary waters in Canada are my favorite. Which is where I'm heading in two weeks.

Excellent rivers here. I think it's the Niangua that runs through Bennett Springs? Also love the Current around Van Buren.

Dad went to the Buffalo down in Arkansas yesterday. He said he had to paddle more than he has in all of his float trips combined. It's been a warm winter, and we haven't had a lot of rain. A lot of the rivers are really low. One of the attorneys I work for said that you almost have to plan on going to a spring fed river to get any current.

Yeah. It's just not something I think of when I go to the river. I think of floating, while I think of being stationary on a lake to fish. I love fishing off the bank. If I'm in the water, I'd rather be moving (canoe, inner tube, swimming, speed boat, etc).
