LNBS: Can we trade Chase Daniel?

I honestly think we will trade him this offseason.

This draft is weak at QB IMO and lots of teams have needs at quarterback, while Chase has shown the ability to lead a team to wins (I still view the 2013 finale as a win because the refs screwed up)

Mariotta has red flags for being a system guy that hasn't had to really throw into tight windows (his receivers were always wide open) and hasn't had to run a pro style set. Others have said he is a one read guy who looks to run too fast (not sure I agree with that)

Winston showed major red flags after his last game and while he is a gamer and has a lot of experience in a pro style offense, there are concerns that his immaturity will lead to a guy with early success but might not have the drive it takes to develop all of his skills and he might really embarrass your team if you draft him and constantly have to clean up after him.

Hundley? I once saw him as a guy that might move this year into the top spot, but he didn't really impress.

It's also a weak free agent class of QBs (even with Cutler possibly hitting free agency)

Andy has a history of trading quarterbacks for picks and it would be amazing if he can get us a third for Daniel while saving us nearly 4 million in cap space while he's at it.

Honestly, the more I look into this QB class, I think it's not only possible but probable that they move Chase...I think a third is possible...or maybe a conditional pick dependent on playing time and production.

Texans
Bills
Rams
Bears
Jets
Jags
Titans
Bucs

That's a lot of QB needy teams without a lot of options out there.

That's pretty funny, considering Whitehurst has double the number of wins as Daniel as a starter and 10 times the number of TD passes.

Chase Daniel has about the equivalent of 3 games experience in the NFL as an undrafted FA going into his 7th season. I'm pretty certain no one is knocking on that door.

It's really hilarious how Daniel is listed above guys like Nick Foles, Matt Moore, Matt Hasselbeck, Matt Cassel, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Shaun Hill, Jason Campbell, and Drew Stanton. Allow me to piss on that list as it's pretty worthless.

Chase Daniel has zero value and was a waste of money when we signed him.

Might be a nice guy but no one is going to give you anything for him. He's worthless.

It's hilarious that this topic has 94 (now 95) posts in it.

Chase Daniel has no trade value. You'd have to be delusional to think he does.

He has zero trade value. He would have zero trade value if he had a friendly contract. He's just fine as a backup QB in the NFL.

This is like asking what kind of a ransom we could have gotten for Todd Collins.

He has two wins. Whopidy ****in do with as many startsas he has. Daniel should have won the Sandy Eggo game last year. Through no fault of his own we lost. He put us in FG range for the win and suck up missed. The list you mentioned is the backup talent in this league. I guarantee a team like Tampa or Jax would make a deal for chase because r the available talent Is lesser than him

worthless in a league stuffed with QB talent but has some value in a league where 6-8 teams are looking for stability at that position.

Jacksonville spent a top 5 pick on a QB last year. I think they have someone they can try out for the time being.

So someone like Jake Locker, Mark Sanchez, Jason Campbell, Matt Flynn, Shaun Hill, Brian Hoyer, or Matt Moore in FA provide less talent than Daniel?

Get. The. ****. Out.

Where do people get the idea that teams are going to trade mid round picks for a backup QB who has no prospect of ever becoming a starter? Where did this start? On Madden?

Neither Tampa Bay or Jacksonville would trade for Chase Daniel.

Chase Daniel won a game where he threw for 157 yards at 5.8 YPA and 0 TDs.

Carlie Whitehurst has lost a game where he threw for 287 yards at 8.2 YPA and 1 TD. He lost another one when he threw for 194 yards at 9.2 YPA and 2 TDs.

Damn that Whitehurst for playing for the Titans!

When a backup caliber QB commanded two second round picks possibly.
