Dim future for Kansas City

I know the whole "Hey it's an Odd-numbered year we'll do better" charm rings in my ear... But the schedule is telling me other wise...

San Diego San Diego
Denver Denver
Oakland Oakland
Tennessee
Jacksonville
Green Bay
Minnesota
Pittsburgh
@ Indianapolis
@ Houston
@ Chicago
@ Detroit.

I say 6-2 at home, 2-6 on the road, and that's being generous.
I think that barring massive changes in the make up of the teams, this is how things will pan out.

Kansas City finds ways to beat the Division opponents at home, 3-0. I don't think the DC (probably Gunther) will be able to stop Vince Young, Jacksonville will probably roll on Kansas City as well.
3-2 at home.

Green Bay will be a mess next year, with or without Brett Favre. Minnesota will be a game they should and probably will win.
5-2 at home.

It might fall heavily on teh schedule as whole and when this game is played, but I think KC should be able to beat Roethlisberger at home... away from Hotel airports and Passion Parties, 6-2.

But the Chiefs' road woes continue. The Chiefs caught Rivers on his worst night and failed to beat them. The game at Mile High will probably fall within the first three weeks of the season, when the team will not be ready to play, so that's a loss. Oakland will be the lone division road win, 1-2.

Then they travel to Indy... Unless Peyton is locked away in an asylum or Wayne and Harrison disappear, KC hasn't the defense to beat them. Houston will be one of those typical boneheaded losses that KC always seems to net.
1-4 on the road.

Chicago will PROBABLY be a defensive powerhouse, and an offense geared to make 10 FGs and call it a night will not beat them. Kansas City's second road win will be against the lowly and ever rebuilding Lions of Detroit.
2-5.

Then comes Buffalo, and I've done this for a few times and been wrong... But I think the Bills will be contenders next year. If it's early in the Season, KC might play them close. But if it's in Week 10 or later, KC will have given up and the Bills will be rolling.
2-6 on the Road. Final record, 8-8. And by Christmas Time, we'll be looking at 2008...
