Bomb Exploded at Boston Marathon Finish Line
I've heard an unconfirmed report (a co-worker's girlfriend called him) that there was a bomb at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, with people injured. I am hearing multiple sirens, though I'm not in the Copley area.

nah, I went out to the 7/11 real quick about an hour after it happened, everything seemed normal. I live in the suburbs, I probably wouldn't have heard it actually. ****ing shitty though.

Walked into my 3:30 class today and my students asked me what I thought about this. My response was that I don't have anything enlightening to say about this, and I doubt few do so soon afterwards. However, what is always educational about such events is to look at the narratives created in the immediate aftermath, as they are indicative of our desire to know and understand, which is often so great that we will conjure stories out of nothingness or pure supposition in order to sate our ignorance.
