Bomb Exploded at Boston Marathon Finish Line
I've heard an unconfirmed report (a co-worker's girlfriend called him) that there was a bomb at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, with people injured. I am hearing multiple sirens, though I'm not in the Copley area.

For those of you who were old enough to really understand Challenger (I have no memory of it), what were those initial moments like?

I saw a video on YouTube once of Christa McAuliffe's parents watching the shuttle, and as it exploded people clapped because they thought it was a normal part of the launch or rocket separation.

Completely and utterly ****ed up.

I was walking between classes in college. We didn't have TV's in the hallways because it was the 80's. No cell phones, no internet, no nothing.

It started out as "whispers" but once we got back to the dorms to watch on our 13" B&W TV's, it was devastating.

I was in the Navy, on my ship, taking a nap at lunch when it happened. I would have been 20, I think. I remember heading up the stairs on the way back to my office, through another berthing compartment. There was a TV and a huge crowd of people were gathered around it. Nobody was talking, and all eyes were glued to the screen. Shuttle launch was on. I was about to ask what the big deal was when it blew up - they were reshowing it. Very sad day. I either wasn't born yet or wasn't old enough to remember any of NASA's early ****-ups, so it was new and not in a good way.

It was like reality ran right up to you and punched you in the face. By that time the shuttle launches had become so routine and there hadn't been any major issues with them, and we all had forgotten how truly dangerous it was.

Federal search warrant is now being executed at 5th floor apt 364 Ocean Ave in Revere, MA - alot of activity, different agencies on scene.

For those that don't know, this is the dude that was behind dox'ing lulzsec awhile ago and it's assumed he has some government connections.

Watched the Challenger live in school. Thing blew up and the teacher got real quiet. Then walked slowly over to the tv to turn it off. Really didn't know what happened till my folks explained it that night
