Jose is dead and I just can't bring myself to care about anything this team does.

**** this day sucks. That kid was everything good about sports. Went to the chiefs game, got drunk and there's still a pall over everything.

It's macabre and unfair, but seriously, why him? Why couldn't it be someone else? Man...anybody but Jose Fernandez. Just an absolute kick in the dick. Life is a whore.

I'm leaving this thread and this season forever.

you missed one of the best moments of the season tonight.

As I'm sure you know, Diaz grew up on the same street in Cuba with Fernandez. Jose has always credited Diaz's dad as teaching him how to play baseball.

Diaz went to the memorial service in Miami yesterday. Met Jose's family he grew up with in Cuba. They gave him one of those Fernandez jerseys that the Marlins has last night. He put it up in the Cardinals dugout.

Diaz came up with the bases loaded. Grand slam. More hugs than high fives. He's emotional and obviously crying.

Martinez's childhood friend died unexpectantly and young. He should be able to help Diaz get through this.

and both Dewitt and Mo both came out publicly that they are happy with Matheny.

They seem ready to blow up this team and put something else out there in 2017 but Matheny has no blame for the 2016 debacle?

Damn nobody saw the clustee**** of an ending last night

How do pro officials let a game end like that? Dudes SPRINTED off the field before the Reds could think about challenging. So weird, but funny as hell. I still think they were ordering a pizza during their blown safe call against the Cards slightly earlier. Pathetic displays.

For all the controversy on this, it's totally on Bryan Price and the Reds. Clear as day that was a ground rule double. Why wait to challenge? If you lose, the game is over. Not like you need to save it for anything after that.
