Is Rakeem Nunez Roches cut?

Seem like he just got cut he posted a video on his IG. Unless he just want to thank the Chiefs.

So, who is left in the NT position?

Derrick Nnadi
Xavier Williams

Not sure after that and KCChiefs doesn't list NT as a position. Any of the following?

Josh Augusta ( 335 pounds )
Stefan Charles
Justin Hamilton
Jarvis Jenkins
Dee Liner (334 pounds)
TY McGill

Not that we need more than 2-3 true nose tackles.

They've gone out of their way to acquire guys that can play multiple positions. I think they're going to be in subs so much it won't matter.

Williams signed a 2-year deal for total of $5m... counts 1.6 million against the cap this year.

That is such a better contract than throwing 8 million at Bennie Logan for one year.

Yeah, people get hung up on certain positions and such. They want versatile strong players that aren't easily pushed around.

He signed a 1.9 mil RFA tender on April 27.

Guess I don't understand how the cap works, but what did they gain by signing him, then cutting him a few weeks later?

NFL contracts are not fully guaranteed so cutting them before the season saves the team money. Some players get signing bonuses upfront while some don't get money until the 1st season game.

Roches could be royally screwed if his contract was structured so that he didn't get any real money until the NFL season officially starts.

Who the hell do we have at DE if Bailey or Jones is out?

Yeah, I get the "he was overrated" part, but at this point I'll take overrated if our DE depth is down to a bunch of loser undrafted guys.

And yes, there IS a difference between RNR and loser undrafted guys, just as there's a difference between RNR and a dependable starter.

Xavier Williams is going to play DE too.

Jenkins has played decent there also and is a lock to make the team now.
