Electronics Samsung Note 7 catching on fire - Comparable phone?

I'm pretty pissed. I was amped about this Samsung Note 7 phone, and got it when it came out. Then it was said it was defective because 60 phones of 2.2 million of them started on fire while charging. So they recalled it, and I took my phone back and got the NEW Note 7. Well, now the NEW Note 7 is also recalled and is still a fire risk.

On top of that, you can't even fly with the flipping thing. AT ALL. You can't power it down, and put it in your checked baggage. TSA won't even allow that. So I can't even travel anywhere until I get a new phone. I already bought a $200 charging case for the phone so I guess that is useless.

So, as opposed to just complaining about it, I need to know what is the most comparable phone to the Note 7. IT has to be AT LEAST as big. A Samsung S7 will not do.

I will not do an Iphone. I realize they are fine phones, I'm just too used to Android and I have tons and tons of apps many of which just work on android.

I've heard of the Google Pixel. I don't know if that is comparable or not. Maybe I can keep my Note 7 and smuggle it on flights after all this hoopla goes away. There really should be no worry to the phone if it isn't powered on.

Love my Nexus 6p. Can be had at half the price as the new Pixel and performance wise its not far off at all.

Considering it is a federal offense to carry one on a plane, I wouldn't suggest that plan.

I've heard good things about the Samsung Galaxy S4, and some of Nokia's phones catching fire that are pretty comparable. I've also heard of some iPhone models catching fire, but you won't consider those. Hope that helps.

I do. With the phone turned OFF. Almost all of the issues with Samsung Note 7's have been while the phone is being charged or while in the process of being turned off, and most of them have been with aftermarket chargers.

Besides, 92 reports of phones overheating, with 45 of them actually combusting out of 2.5 million phones is a pretty low risk. I have a better chance of getting struck by lightening.

How am I cheap if I got the most expensive phone on the market?

I've acknowledged it there have been instances where it has happened with the phone off, but ALMOST all of them have been while the phone was charging. In this case, I would imagine it was likely she had recently turned the phone off.

Looks like I'll be getting either the Pixel XL, LG v20 or backtracking to get the Note 5.

Would like to see a super powered phone with 6.0 screen instead of 5.7 inch one. It makes a bit of a difference when watching movies. Samsung Mega was a good start, but just too big for most people I think and it didn't have the top of the line hardware as the Note brands.
