Can he sustain that? I don't know. But that's two games better than any performance Alex has had this year, and I don't believe the Browns offensive roster is collectively better than ours, or that the Browns offensive coaching staff is collectively better than ours.

I don't think "stupidity" has anything to do with the likelihood of the team retaining Smith. They gave up a pair of seconds for him, and they've started the year 9-0. They're not moving on from that. I'd be shocked if he doesn't get an extension this offseason, even if his play doesn't improve an iota in the last 7 games.

I'm sure the youth and system change on the offensive line, as well as the injuries at tight end, have played a role in Alex's performance. I also believe that, on that flip side, Alex's performance has had a detrimental effect on the performance of the wide receivers. Something which many of us expected, and are not, unfortunately, surprised to see.

I believe they actually have peopled the roster with competitive personnel, across the board. Including on offense. I think the group, as a whole, is underperforming, and I believe that Alex Smith is as responsible for that as anyone else.

Which is not, of course, in any way suggesting that he's solely responsible.
It's tough to say how Campbell would be in this offense, as the browns system is different with norv.

And I think th browns are a lot better offensively, personnel wise, than we are.

I shouldn't even have replied. I knew better, but, to think that Jason Campbell is anything but the product of the PERSONNEL behind him, and the benefit of a top shelf defense, and oline, the best young receiver, and best young tight end in football, is RIDICULOUS.

People will see what they want to see.

It's the same BS we went through with Cassel.

This fan base has stockholm syndrome with game managers.

He is a game manager, there is no doubting that.

But the point that is constantly overlooked by you is the average at which the rest of the offense outside of Albert, Sherman, and Charles is.

We honestly write the exact same thing and substitute Alex Smith in the above. His play has been ****ing awful at points this season.

The point isn't that JC is a particularly good QB.

When Alex stops ****ing up when protection is good or receivers are open, I'll forgive him.

His play has declined since the first month of the season.

****, I have a GIF of this cat overthrowing a ****ing bubble screen.

He needs to get his shit straight.

I saw it as more that people saw him as the same type of player that Alex Smith is and that he is winning with a losing team.

Which, is only have the story. All of the Browns losses, save the Chiefs game, have been lost by the worst qb in the league, since Tim Tebow.

If Alex Smith, had been the qb of the Browns, they very well might be 6-3 at worst.

Still preaching. Again. I absolve, and have NEVER absolved Alex Smith of his mediocrity.

Just wanted any of the Alex Smith Critics, to acknowledge that there is a serious upgrade needed on offense before anyone can expect an average qb to exceed himself.

Look at Matt Ryan, an extremely average qb, without Julio, without Roddy. It shows.

Look at Tom Brady minus Welker, Hernandez, and Gronk.

Now, you are talking about two qbs, who are BETTER than Alex Smith, playing like Alex Smith, with Alex Smith type weapons.

See MY point?

Everyone knew Alex Smith couldn't carry the Chiefs.

He damn sure cant carry the Chiefs as is. Hell he cant even make them average as is.

If hoyer would have started the season and never gotten hurt, or if they'd have gone to Campbell when he got hurt, the browns would be in the lead int hat division.

That's a damn good team

I covered that when Alex Smith was acquired in trade.

Defense, Special Teams, Coaching, water boy, weak schedule, top shelf running game, top shelf running back.

Alex Smith.

Reason number 246 why the Chiefs improved.

Bro. The haters have a list of reasons. That bullet is already in the Chamber.
