Crackdown is awesome. there's nothing really great about it, but its just a solid game with fun missions. its a good sandbox game. Hell, if i didnt just order an arcade stick for street fighter, i would get it. Just spent 80 bucks on that damn thing. lol

I really wish they would make Crackdown 2.

I thought about picking it up but I know my 12 year old will want to play it. I let him play CoD and Halo and even Fallout 3( kind of regret that one) but I have heard this one compared to GTA which I will never buy.

You play as a super-cop in Crackdown taking down the bad guys. It's the opposite of GTA.

Crackdown isn't even remotely as mature, in tone or content, as GTA or COD. It's basically like playing a comic book.

Crackdown 2 was in the works but it got scrapped.

I also am a big fan of Crackdown. There's something uniquely awesome about improving your abilities as your character progresses; to the point where you're 8ft tall, can pick up & throw trucks, and jump 30ft in the air. Jumping into an Agency vehicle and watching it transform into an uber badass wrecking machine is fucking awesome.

Not true. Realtime Worlds never started developing the 2nd game. But Microsoft owns the IP and they are some serious indications that they are having a different studio make a sequel.

GTA is more about what you really don't want kids to be exposed to. I don't buy into the whole violent video games make kids violent. I am really more concerned with sexual content than anything else. Language too but only the F word. My kids don't cuss but I still am not fond of games that feel the need to through that crap in there just because they can.

I have DLed the demo but so far am not really enjoying the game at all. The control scheme seems off, driving is a pain in the ass and aiming is all over the place. It seems impossible to NOT kill civilians. heh
