I had just watched Insidious Chapter 2 this weekend. What a piece of shit. I am simply tired of James Wan horror movies at this point. They are all the same thing. I cannot blame him, these movies print money.

You are correct. I dont believe that hurt it tho. James Wan movies are the slow burn to a jump scare movie. Not really blood and gore. The major problems I had with Chapter 2 was random slapstick thrown in for no reason, some weird time travel and an unsolved murder that never gets resolved.

I loved 1408. However there are 2 different endings, one is awesome and one sucks my dick:
Spoiler!
Cabin In The Woods is probably my all time favorite horror movie because it is so perfectly meta.

Cabin in the Woods was great. I had no idea it was supposed to be horror satire. Totally took me for a ride.

I haven't seen a good horror movie in years. I can count on one hand how many of them actually scared me.
I liked the very first Saw movie, the exorcist still makes me jumpy as hell. There's a few parts of the original Amityville that was good. Jacobs ladder was pretty awesome. Horror movies nowadays are just money grabs. Jump scares over and over, the same white-skinned, black eyed Asian kids or ceiling monsters etc. |
