What do you spend your money on hobby wise?

I was thinking about this today. A buddy of mine has a youtube channel and he is constantly buying shoes for his "collection", and all I think about is how much money he spends on things he wont even wear. I am a big fan of some of the Nike SB shoes, but I wouldn't spend the money on them, I only have 4 pairs of shoes currently. I have another friend who spends all his money on his gun collection. He has spent over $1200 customizing an AR-15, its a sick gun, but that's quite a bit of dough.

I got to thinking about what I spend my money on (fun wise) and I really don't have anything. I like to fish, but I don't spend more than $50 bucks a season on supplies. I am into old cars, but I havent spent any money on them recently (still havent got my Cutlass back). I have some guns, and I like to shoot for fun, but I probably only do that once a year. The majority of my money goes to bills and school.

You guys have any hobbies you spend a lot of money on. I wouldn't be opposed to dropping some coin on something I loved, but I don't really have a hobby I love. I know someone on here is into shoes (I think Reaper), but I can't remember. I know some guys are into cars.

If you do spend some coin and want to talk about new purchases or anything post it up. I need to buy some tires for my 63 Buick, but I will do that in the spring. I would love to get an AR-15, but will never spend the money.

I hate spending money on myself, but I'll occasionally purchase a video game. That's about it.

AR15's are fun but once you deck out a few of them it gets old. I like tools, food, shoes and recreational sports. So I have tools, food, shoes, golf clubs, softball bats, footballs, volleyball equipment. I used to like the Chiefs and collected Chiefs crap but I haven't bought anything like that in ages.

I do triathlons. Holy crap, what a drain on the pocketbook.

I bought a middle-of-the pack tri bike USED and it was $1,800. There are bikes that will run you close to $10K
One of the races I did last year cost $225 just to enter
My wetsuit retails for $499, but I won it (thank goodness)
I just spent $100 on new tires for my bike
Race apparel probably averages over $100 (and you can't just have one kit!)
I have another few hundred dollars worth of training clothes
Running shoes $100+
Bike shoes $100+
Garmin watch $300
Swim goggles $30
Bike Pump $50+
Bike Helmet $50+
Sunglasses $100
I bet I've spent over $200 in nutrition this year (energy gel, gatorade, salt caplets, etc)

I don't even have a power meter for my bike ($1,000+) or race wheels ($800 - $3000 or so)

Also doesn't count gym membership for pool access.

Interesting, go on... I am not into prepping, but I can appreciate the sentiment behind it. Whenever I get my own house and land I will start prepping with the basics: guns, ammo, canned goods, dry goods etc etc.

So I guess overall it costs me about $3,000 a year. Man, you just got me depressed. However, the travel stuff is fun and the out of state running is almost an excuse for the travel instead of the other way around.
If you enjoy it, I don't see a problem with that. It's not like youre spending a fortune.
