What Time Does The Chiefs Game Start Today?
Or do we have a 1st round bye again this year?
Oh that's right, we didn't make the playoffs for the 3rd time in 4 Dick Vermeil seasons. What is amazing is the bias that most of us simple minded, entertainment driven fans possess. We are entertained with high scoring offense and have a lot more tolerance for complete ineptitude on defense than fans ever do on the offensive side of the ball. If the Chiefs were the worst offense in the league and had a top 5 defense people would be screaming for a coaching change much quicker. I'm certainly guilty of this. Personally I don't really want Vermeil to quit or be forced out but I am sure if our offense was as pitiful as our defense after 4 years at the helm I would be screaming for a change. We are even seeing this with the Saints. Haslett is coming back despite a pitiful defense and a very large underachieving team. In reality a great defense and horrible offense will win more games and make it farther in the playoffs than vice versa yet fans, GM's and owners have a lot more patience for bad defense than bad offense. Is it as simple as offense being more exciting and selling more tickets and wide spread Attention Deficit Disorder? |

That is only funny cause it is true. On the flip side if our defense was as good as our offense we might have only given up 35 points and been 11-5

I'm as much of a defensive homer as the next guy. But, I'd rather not rely on my defense to score points for my offense. Yes the Chiefs defense has outright sucked for 4 yrs now. I blame that on Carl first and Dick second.

I wish the Chiefs could re-load like KU does. Larry Brown leaves enter Roy Williams. Roy Williams leaves enter Bill Self. But no, we are the freaking Bengals.

We might be able to if we could schedule all home games.

But, Marty lost yesterday. That makes the Chiefs season acceptable and lets people feel good about themselves.
