If Reid truly is willing to put his trust in Dorsey and work hand in hand with him, and if they are both reporting to Clark, that would be a great scenario, because it prevents Reid from making blind personnel decisions unchallenged, which would be dangerous. But we'll see.

Dorsey sounds great on paper. Ron Wolf and Ted Thompson disciple. I would have serious concerns about putting him in charge of a franchise, because as I stated after the whole ***** experience, I don't trust guys anymore who stay in one place for so long in a lesser role and turn down opportunities to move up, because at some level I wonder if that means that they are just too comfortable in where they are and too comfortable in their existing role and don't really have a clear plan as to what they would do if given the reigns to a franchise. That's why I wonder if DeCosta would do well elsewhere.

But with Reid essentially being the face of the franchise, it allows Dorsey to basically come in and roll up his sleeves and go to work identifying players. And by all accounts he has a much more open and less arrogant personality than *****. So I have hope that this would be a good fit...
Well said.

I know, I know.

The concept of a head coach and the GM working to ID the needs of the team and going out and finding the best players to fill said need instead of the GM forcing a metric ton of crap down the head coach's throat is a foreign concept in KC.

I think this would be such a bonus...going with the coach first/GM next approach I figured we'd get a no-name paper-pusher in here. Wow, Dorsey would be a great find.

Lance Allan @lanceallan

Per @NFL source, @packers John Dorsey interviewed with @kcChiefs yesterday. No official decision yet #Packers #KCChiefs #NFL

There's the tweet.

This offseason couldn't have gone better if this hire goes through.

I don't think so. He's not the GM, and not a coach. I think they could come to an agreement ASAP.

Indeed, the Packer organization knows he interviewed. If he is interested, I'm sure they will say, "Great! Let them know and we'll clear your desk out for you." I'm not being sarcastic or implying a resentment from the Packer organization, but they need to keep moving forward on THEIR draft analysis, which they are probably somewhat protective of.

It will be the best thing for BOTH organizations for this to move forward as rapidly as possible.
