Math does not respect the Chiefs

Even though we are the only undefeated team, we only have a 6% chance of winning the Super Bowl. Ahead of us are:

Seattle 35%
Denver 16%
Cincinnati 11%
Indy 8%

and tied with SF.

This is according to my nfl-forecast.com software using team efficiency ratings from advancednflstats.com

Raiders 4-4
Browns 4-4
Titans 4-4
Texans 3-5
Jags 0-8 (KC wins)

Omit the hapless Jags and Giants, the Chiefs would be facing a .500 schedule.

Take out Denvers wins against common opponents:
Dallas 6-2
Philly 5-3

Take out the Chargers win against common opponents:
Cowboys 7-1
Philly 6-2

My point being, you can't complain about KC or Denvers easy schedule when the AFCW teams are making them losers. The AFCW isn't a bunch slapdicks this season. Hell, even the Raiders showed a spark by beating the Chargers. Before the season started, the Steeler game would've been chalked up as a loss. Things change and teams improve.
Exactly. Plenty easy enough to understand when you break it down and take a look at it. Not surprised at all that the media isn't / hasn't. They have one narrative and run with it. Say it enough and people start believing it. Then they do something like go out and elect Obama TWICE! (Sorry - couldn't resist, but its on point)

Who is our likely opponent as the 5 seed? New England?

I would think it would be more likely the north winner, or the south maybe.

Dunno though.

I bet there will be at least one punt by each team this time.

Theoretically, if we win the next 2 and Denver loses to NE, we'd be sitting real nice.

11-1
9-3 Broncos

With 4 to to, and the Skins, Raiders, Colts and Bolts left to play.

I realize we're the Chiefs and we'll probably shit down our leg, but the division, #1 seed, HFA is right there for the taking.

If we end up with the 5 seed and the Broncos are the 1, could we play them before the AFC Champ game?

The only reason I'd want to play there would be to see Pioli's interview after the game.

If we won as the 5 seed and the 3 seed beat the 6th seed we would play the 1 seed (presumably Denver) in the divisional round.
