Plexiglas is fairly hail resistant, as is the opaque fiberglas. It all comes down to how permanent you want it to be, I guess.

I was considering the same thing. We just found a house on HWY 1 with a ton of property and I wouldn't mind having a green house so I can always have good organic food and herbs. My biggest issue though will be with a green house that rusts being as I am right off the water.

This is the one that I have.
http://www.littlegreenhouse.com/premium.shtml It is not heated, so obviously it's a spring/summer/fall operation only. If you want year round, you'll have to heat it. The page above also has links to heaters and such. |

Greenhouses are very expensive to heat in the winter and hard to cool in the summer. I had a 30' X 30' greenhouse on a farm I owned. It had a pipe frame and was covered with two layers of vinyl. It had an air pump that inflated the two coverings. I bought it at Stuppy there in KC. Call them, they are specialists.
