2007: LJ could be out a while. Possible long term injury?

Consider this a rumor.
Again I'm not saying this is fact but someone who has told me medical "stuff" about Chiefs players in the past and it has turned out to be true told me this.

LJ has a garden variety sprained ankle but thats not worrying the Chiefs or LJ.

They think its his foot thats is the real concern and specifically worst case scenerio Plantar Fasciitis or a pulled ligment in the foot. It happened when LJ tryed to pull on his foot when it was under Hawk and stretched that muscle on the bottom of his foot and in the arch. It could take 3-4 weeks of rest or in rare cases to a year to recover. But until the swelling goes down they won't know for sure.

Again just FYI passing it along.

Ehhhhh... maybe. LJ's as passionate as the next RB. Ever since the guy came back, it seems he gets tripped up too easily. Granted, he's not an evasive RB, but he needs to pump his legs more.

I noticed the same thing. He seems powerful if people hit him up high or if he gets a chance to do the hitting, but lay a hand on his lower legs and he folds like a lawn chair. It made me wonder if his injury is still in his head a little bit.

He did seem to run a little harder in this game, but he hasn't done anything this season that either J. Charles or K. Smith couldn't do just as well.

LJ looked pretty good yesterday, IMO. He was running hard and cutting back when necessary. He looked like he was playing with passion. That is something we haven't seen from him in awhile.

BTW,
Autumnwind, you're an idiot. Atlanta was not playing nickel. They were trying to shut down LJ. Why would you play a nickel when you know the opposing QB sucks? Judging by your comments, I doubt you know much about football. Of course, being a Raiders fan, that is typical.

The injury I'm talking about was his season-ending foot injury last year. Swazey and I were talking about the present. It's a discussion that is probably out of place in this old thread, but he's the first one I've seen mention the same things I was thinking as I watched LJ yesterday.

What's truly bizarre to me is how Gailey refuses to run toss plays and stretch plays. I don't know why in hell we wouldn't - the real strength for Albert is playing in space.

Spin and use blind homerism to make you feel better but he had 7 c for 21 yds when it mattered. Using your logic for Diaper Boy could be used for John Kitna which is putting up empty stats when a game is all but over.

Consider this a rumor, and just FYI, but Herm and DV were both big fans of using "injuries" to replace starters.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

You are right, because they were ahead they decided to let him break tackles and just threw their faces into his hand so that they could be stiff armed.

Tell yourself what you want but he had 20 yds in the first half then once the queeefs were out of the game he had one long run for 50 yds. So in reality he had about 50 yards on 16 carries. I don't care what you want to believe but Diaper Boy is a shell of himself and one game with decent stats in an uncompetitive game won't make me a believer. Keep homering on.

You sound like the anti-Vermeil, trying to use stats negatively to show how bad a player is. You're failing miserably. LJ is and will be a productive back, even behind our shit line.
