Thanksgiving Blessing
Below is something I wrote to share with all my friends at CP:
A Thanksgiving Blessing To my dear friends, It is Thanksgiving afternoon, and I’m honoring the ancient traditions of overeating then watching the NFL Detroit Lions lose to this year’s opponent. We truly are blessed and each has much to be thankful for in our own way. I started thinking of all the things to be thankful; and made a list. I may not be eloquent with words, but I hope you enjoy: I’m Thankful For: My Parents: Though they may be advancing in years; they are still physically active with minds sharp as a tack. My friends and co-workers: Everyday, I learn something new from you all. Thank you. My health: Even with knee rehab, I’m blessed. Without good health, we have nothing. The resiliency of the electoral system: Whether you voted Red or Blue, Americans abided by the election. Look at what is happening in Ukraine and Venezuela. The strength of our economy: We’ve survived the dot.com meltdown, the 9/11 recession, and the price of oil exceeding $50/barrel during the past 5 years. Yet we still have the world’s strongest economy. Religion: Each week I go to church without fear of government or sect retribution. Whether you are protestant, catholic, or whatever; we all live side by side without fear of violence. And last of all; we live in a land of freedom: The freedom to speak your mind; the freedom to go anywhere you wish; the freedom to become anything you want regardless of where you started without preference to birthright or silver spoon. God bless you all. HAPPY THANKSGIVING! |
