http://blogs.ourlads.com/2013/04/19/...-mock-draft-2/
Dude knows his stuff (was once a KC scout back in the day) and I've been waiting for his Chiefs Mock and here it is. |

Michael Williams is a decent pick in the sixth.
Otherwise, that draft sucks. |

I could easily see the first 3 picks happening. This would not be a bad draft.
Wilson is going to be a good NFL qb if he gets an opportunity.

Harper would be a good pick in the 5th or 6th round.

I will say this, the speed he is presenting at the LB spot would be tremendous. Both Gooden at OLB and Alonso at ILB are very athletic.
I could see the Wilson pick happening but if we didn't take Wilson with the first 3rd, I could see KC taking Jesse Williams out of Bama instead of Logan. Williams is a 6'3", 325 pounder that most likely will play as a 3-4 DE at the next level. Very likely to take over for T-Jax after next season imo. I actually would really like this draft. |

The tragedy of the last Pioli draft was that he had the perfect five tech sitting there for him in Michael Brockers and had to know that there were multiple legitimate high ceiling 34 NT's in the 2013 draft. As well, I'm not sold on Kiko Alonso being effective in a 34 as the MLB. He's very lean and plays that way. He's active, but he's not as fast as people think he is and doesn't hold up well in taking on blocks. |

Alonso is like a safety/Linebacker tweener. He will probably be better suited in a 4-3, but I'm not sure he will make it as a LB'er in this league.

So we drafted a defensive coordinator in the 7th round?
Chiefs would totally do that. |

Here's his highlights from the 2012 USC game, where he actually had a pretty good game.: Compare that to Bostic, who is much more controlled/disciplined on the field, but he tends to get caught up on blocks. He seems like he tries to "out-muscle" his guy too much and loses the play a lot. But he seems to have better instincts than Alonso and a better build for the MLB position. Here he is against Ohio State: Then there is the guy that I really like right now in Kevin Reddick. Amazing ability to come off a block really quick after redirecting the guard/center. He drops back into coverage with really good fluidity. I'm really impressed with this guy and his skill set and instincts and his ability to play the middle of the field. He's also an excellent blitzing MLB. Here's Reddick against NC State: |
