Does anyone else like hitting up garage/estate sales?
Last Saturday I was on my way to Sam's Club, going down 95th, and saw a sign for a garage sale. Stopped on a whim and ended up spending three hours probably hitting up 6-7 different houses. Signs everywhere, just a little west of 95th and State Line.

Lots of rich people selling shit for cheap. Picked up a nice 8-piece china set for two bucks. The estate sale was nuts, the whole house was for sale. Got some clothes, a drinking glass and a couple gifts.

Where are the best places around KC to find garage sales? I was honestly impressed just with the amount right off 95th...I'm definitely going again soon.

I live on a county highway. I've put broken mowers, chairs, tables, and all sorts of broken shit on the side of the road with a "free" sign. It never lasts more than a couple hours.

This is my grandma's hobby. I am not one to wake up early on a Saturday and go rifle through people's shit. Just doesn't interest me, but I got dragged to these things a ton as a kid and I enjoyed it.

As a relatively young man, no thanks. I have no issue with taking/receiving some garage sale shit if my grandma finds something useful; but I'm not interested in the actual driving around and looking through things part.

Around here if you don't get to a garage sale by like 9:00 am a truck with driven by a Mexican dude will have bought 80% of the stuff.

We had one once in Houston and some Mexican lady drove up and goes, "How much for everything?"

I think maybe they take it to a swap meet and resell it or something.

I don't mess with garage sales but I do like to go to estate sales and auctions when I have time. I look for specific type of items that I collect, sell or things I know I can flip for money.

my wife had a huge garage sale last spring....we made a whopping $50. lol. which is weird....we live off of marshall drive, just near the on-ramp to south bound I35. so we had plenty of visibility. hell, we only had probably 8 people stop by.

definitely not worth the day long effort getting ready for it all weekend.

We had one last summer and that's the last. We both decided that if we have something we don't want anymore and it's not nice enough to donate, then it goes to the dump. I have a couple of big ticket items that I want to sell on the local classified (on Facebook, not newspaper) but, other than that, donate or dump.
