This is the NFL- not college- Mahomes will end up like RG3 if he keeps thinking he can roll out and make a play

News flash- This aint the 70's and 80's.. this isn't the era of Tarkenton and Montana- College football is so different from the NFL it aint even funny...If you look at the great QB's today- They all have something in common- They are all pocket passers.. You ever wonder why QB's like RG3, Newton, Hell, even Steve McNair never won a SB?

If you go back and look at Mahomes college tapes- he's a 7 step drop back passer.. why? Because when shit breaks down he's given the green light to run- well, that aint gonna happen in the NFL.. he tries that shit and DE's will break his neck drilling him out of bounds 5 yards behind the LOS- I watched tape of him where he had wide open slants 8-10 yards in the middle and pulled back and rolled out hoping to connect on some sandlot football "chuck".. This aint the Big 12.. this is the frekin NFL.. and if he thinks he's gonna try and scramble like Tarkenton he'll end up just like RG3.. done in 3 years

Rebuttal: Rodgers and Favre.

As Mahomes said on NFLN, he wants to 'destroy teams from inside and outside the pocket'. Just because he can make throws while scrambling doesn't mean that he can't make plays from the pocket. That's what this developmental stage is for, in part.

You are undeniably afraid of the possibility of Mahomes becoming a star.
