The much-discussed potential trade of Branden Albert from the Chiefs to the Dolphins doesn’t appear likely at the price Albert is currently seeking.

Although the Chiefs and Dolphins can probably agree on compensation — the Dolphins sending a second-round pick to Kansas City — the hangup is that Albert wants the kind of money that the Dolphins aren’t willing to spend. Specifically, according to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, Albert wants between $8 million and $9 million a year on a long-term deal.

In other words, Albert is looking for the same kind of contract that left tackle Jake Long got from the Rams — the very contract the Dolphins wouldn’t give Long, which is why he left Miami for St. Louis.

If the Dolphins weren’t willing to pay Long that kind of money, it’s hard to see why they’d be willing to give up a second-round draft pick for the privilege of paying Albert that kind of money. So the Dolphins may need to look elsewhere for a left tackle. And Albert may have to settle for playing this season for the Chiefs, making $9.8 million, and hitting free agency next year.

How am I wrong? Snatchz was better than Vassel. Period. Geno will be better than Alex in the long run. Is wha it is, regardless of what our two "saviors" at OAD or YOU...happen to feel to the contrary.

It's not Albert hate. It's not paying him ridiculous money when we can go the cheaper better and healthier option. Then use that money elsewhere like re-signing Houston or adding a couple players.

Here's the thing though. He has no player evaluations. Have you ever seen him make a insightful post or back up anything he's said? He just bandwagons certain people around here. He's one of the reasons I toned down my Geno fandom. Hated being grouped in with him and penbook.

I cooled on Geno in the last month but it had to do a lot with all the choco pee pee talk. Ewww!

That was a big thing for me too. I tried to ask people to stop, reported posts about it, but no one stopped. Kind of glad we don't have to deal with years of that shit.

Sometimes a player's representation !@#$s you over worse than the player. Does anyone really think that Albert is driving the bus here? The kid damn near failed out of college - we're not talking about a rocket surgeon here.

This is his agent telling him what he'll get after his agent told him to hold out for more last year. He's going to look like one hell of an asshole if he tells Albert to sign a deal that costs his client several million.

Albert's hard-line stance makes a little more sense if what ***** is saying is true.

Oh yeah, back when Sanchez was actually doing decently behind a stud defense and run game, he was all over this board about how great Sanchez was.

Now he's changing the criteria better than Cassel.

I originally was on the Geno train but jumped off a looonngg time ago when he didn't look 1.1 quality and this board overkilled on his abilities. It became maddening!!!
