Bengals sign Safety Roy Williams
Former Cowboys safety Williams going to Bengals
Posted: May 6th, 2009 The Bengals have agreed to terms with former Cowboys free safety Roy Williams. The Cowboys released Williams, once regarded as one of the fiercest safeties in the NFL, after last season. In Cincinnati, Williams will be reunited with Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, who coached the Cowboys’ defense when the safety had some of his best production. |

I didn't think he'd been convicted enough times for the Bengals to consider him.

So they let an underrated safety named Williams walk last year to sign an overrated safety named Williams this year. Brilliant!!!!

He can't cover or tackle. Makes a big hit every now and then, that's it.

He was nothing in Dallas and will be even less in Cincy. He was over hyped coming out and has not even come close being a good player.

He was horrible in Dallas because he is not good in coverage at all, he is a big hitter, and we all know what comes with that. I think in Cincy he will do ok, because that division is a run first division, so he will rack up some tackles. Teams like Pitt, Cleveland, Baltimore, are not pass heavy teams, that's the perfect fit for Williams.

Roy Williams is proof that making a Pro Bowl (or 5) doesn't mean shit.
