Quick question:

Anyone here prefer the Univision telecasts over the ESPN?

I was having this conversation with Cochise in DC.

I feel like the Mexican telecasters exhibit more emotion than their US counterparts.

I don't know what the hell they're saying, but the infliction in their voice is a lot more exciting to me.

Back line went to sleep from Korea but the keeper should have made a better save.

Is ESPN using the BBC/Sky1 coverage, or do they have their own.

Also, do all the ESPN commercial breaks have that Brasil song as the stinger [Brah-sil, . . Brah-siiiiiilll]? I played that song all though HS and Univ marching band.

I thought that they had their own. Either way, it sounds really Euro to me.

I'm starting to wonder if that European feel from the commentators adds to the American disconnect.

I find them to be very boring and dry in comparison to the spanish telecasters.

Well, they are exciting, but a lot of people hate on Gus Johnson for being so excited when he calls games in English.

Well...Gus Johnson is the extreme in the other direction.

I think U.S Soccer would benefit from a better broadcast team. I think the Mexican team blows the U.S team out of the water.

These are all ESPN announcers.

There is simply a lack of high-quality American commentators, at the moment.

However, four years from now FOX has the World Cup and Gus Johnson will be calling the main games.
