Elementary school I was the "brilliant" kid in class. I sucked at dodgeball, but I was good on the flag football team in 5th and 6th grade. Anyway, yeah, the jocks thought I was cool even though I sucked at sports early on.
Middle School I had one kid pick on me because I wanted to do well in school. I actually cared about the work I put into it, and he thought I was a loser. Wasn't anything serious. Freshman year in high school I still cared about school. Combine that with nearly all the kids in my gym class from the other middle school, and I was labeled a nerd and a loser from the start. Didn't get much better with those guys. It stopped when I stopped caring about school and hung around the music department all day. Then when I went anywhere else without my music friends, I was an outcast, but wasn't picked on. Wasn't picked on that much at all to summarize, but I do know what it feels like to say the least. I made fun of some kids, but I didn't focus on them at all... for long periods of time at least. |
