2014-2015 NHL Offseason/Regular Season Thread
Free Agency starts today. I'm probably the worst candidate to keep up an OP with player movement and the like, but figured it would be cool to have a repository for all things NHL leading up to next season.

Anaheim acquires Kesler from Canucks for Bonino, Sbisa, and picks.

-Dallas acquires Spezza from Montreal for Chiasson, others, and a 2nd round pick.
-Avs acquire Briere for Parenteau and a late pick.
-Predators acquire James Neal for Spaling and Hornqvist.
-Marian Gaborik re-signs with Kings.
-Ryan Miller to Canucks via UFA.
-Paul Stastny to the Blues via UFA.
-Jarome Iginla to the Avs via UFA.
-Dan Boyle to the NYR.
-Brad Richards to the Blackhawks.
-Vanek to the Minnesota Wild.
-Robidas to the Maple Leafs.
-Niskanen to the Caps via UFA.

Feel free to add other moves and I'll do my best to update.

I don't think even he can fix that franchise. In typical Leafs style, I'm sure they'll can him in 3 years then pay him the 5 remaining as he coaches elsewhere.

They can afford it, it doesn't effect the salary cap and the rebuild will be that much faster with well coached players.

From Babcock's POV, he's 52, considered the best coach in the league winning the Stanley cup; IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships; and 2 Olympic Golds. The cherry on top of his career would be turning around the Leafs, (once thought to be impossible).

Guess he cares more about money than winning. $6.5M a season to get canned before his contract hits the halfway point. He has no chance with that group.

Blues better go full court press on Bylsma, or they are going to suffer at the box office. Another season of Hitch isn't going to fly around here.

Just finished last night's game... really glad the Blackhawks tied the series, could have been a short series had they lost after playing 2 games last night.

Great headbutt... makes sense it's not a goal, can't kick it in or throw it in, either.

Doesn't count if there's a distinct pelvic thrust motion to intentionally thrust the puck into the net, but if the puck enters the net due to natural pelvic movement or pelvic follow through, it counts.

OTOH, this series is like watching a video game. The intermission guys are amusing, they've been seriously annoyed with the sloppy play the past two games.

The stick to stick passing is just ridiclous but they look like they're all over the ice like a pick up game. Video game is great analogy.
