The Motorcycle Discussion Thread

I figure there are some motorcycle guys/gals on CP, so I thought we could have a place to talk all things Motorcycles.

Tire Mount and Balance Prices (as of 10/29/16)

Prices based on if you remove the wheels yourself and bring the wheels and new tires with you:

Cycle Gear - $35 per wheel if you buy tires from them. $58 per wheel if you buy tires elsewhere
Rawhide - $65 per wheel (assuming it would be the same at other HD dealers. they book it at 1/2 hr per wheel)
C R Cycle Tires (DeSoto) - $30 per wheel

Cheapest I've found my Michelin Commander II's. Seem like they have good prices on other brands too.
http://www.jakewilson.com - Free 3 day shipping on orders over $75

that's where I got mine!
the non-candy ones he said he would sell me for $9400.
though, if I remember correctly the only non-candied '13's were the yellow.

I think the switch started in the ‘90’s but it depends on what model you’re talking about as to when the switch was made. Higher end bikes got EFI before lower end ones.

I think Sportsters were the last to switch. I saw an older one at the dealership, and it still had a choke.

I don't know what year, but it was definitely an older model; when the looked very tall etc

After really being tempted I decided to wait another year or two. My 05 only has 17k miles, it's paid off, runs and looks great.
I bet if you wait just a bit you can get a great deal with 14's have so many changes.

My wife keeps asking me if I want one. I love the new Whiskey (Copper).

Supposedly the new fairings are awesome, I just can't decide.

I was hoping for a great deal on the 13 because the 14s are in. I'm not sure I like the changes in 14. Plus they didn't make a 14 road glide, but maybe that's why the 13 is still in high demand. They sold it the next day after I walked out.

Yup and that one is a road king. We also have a Kawasaki 1000, old but still fun to work from. Can do more clutch work on it. But anything PR related got to get on the road king.

Saw victory's newest contribution to motor jocks at sturgis. It was badass.

We were hanging out on main st in deadwood and talked to a couple of the reps who were there. They are really nice bikes, but I'm a HD guy.
Victory's just have too many angles for my, they are nice bikes though.
