The evolution of the "I'm leaving forever" thread...
In the last 24 hours or so, we've seen dozens of threads lamenting the fact that the Chiefs game will not be televised for a great majority of us.
During that 24 hours, the tactics/suggestions for people to be able to see the game have gone from amusing (calling DirecTV to get zip codes changed), to hopeless (calling the NFL to complain), to downright absurd (contacting the NFL's major advertisers). At some point during that 24 hours, I (and many others) decided that it was only possible to post "No, the game won't be on Sunday Ticket" a few hundred times before it was to the point of being pathetic. At that point, some of us (aka "me") decided to make jokes at other users' expense. In response to that, I received a PM from a long-time lurker/infrequent poster who has informed me that because I made fun of their post and I am a mod, they would be hesitant to post in the future. Futhermore, they suggested that the quality of the Planet has gone down significantly as of late, and my behavior is to blame. Does this qualify as an "I'm leaving forever" thread? Or is a PM to one person, albeit a mod, not sufficient? |
