No Man's Sky

Been hyper-psyched for this one for a while. First game I've preordered since Destiny, comes out in June on PC and PS4. IGN's featuring it this month.

There are, apparently, all manner of issues with the PC port of the game. I am so glad that I did not buy into the hype.

Star Citizen may be taking forever to complete... but they are at least going to be damn sure things are working before full release.

Just started last night. Very chill fun for me as I like to drink bourbon while playing games.

I finally found a planet worth exploring completely. Perfect weather and sentinels. I've been on it about 6 hours now and have upgrading my ship from 17-22 so far.

Home what are your pc specs now? How long do you think 4gb vram will last?

They have a 970 sli and an i7 on NewEgg for about 1300. It's not a bad deal.

*Edit: I went with the gtx 1070 and an i5 6600.

So.... I couldn't figure out how to exit the damn game.... LOL... had to bring up Task Manager and kill it.

PC controls are a little wonky. Pretty, but it's a hot mess....

Star Citizen has the chance to become the most EPIC game ever. Think EVE Online but with FPS element to it. Thinking of Clans/Guilds having it out in space boarding each other crafts ships blowing up around you as you are fighting... It just is amazing.

Think about fleets attacking each other with capital ships and fighters all over the place, the REAL reason Star Citizens is taking so long is because Computers cannot handle (in mass) exactly what this game is going to become.

Think for a second two fleets 80 ships large with 200+ players per fleet going at each other fighting over a system. EvE Online had 3,000+ player fights, Star Citizen will have the same but with fewer ships.

Each crew member will have a purpose, its going to be amazing.
Ship Sizes

Multi Crewing

First Person Shooter

Probably now about 15 hours into the game. I believe they made a bit of a mistake in making the game get more interesting at the 10+ hour mark, rather than the early game. I can certainly see how people would be turned off by the repetition early on. But you hit a point in the game, and you'll know it, where the meta transitions into something else.

I'm still in my starting system. Can't find the last two species on planet five of six. Have tried everything. Not in the sky anywhere that I can find. Not in the water, which is toxic and empty everywhere I've looked. Nothing underground. I've twice flown into orbit and relocated a few minutes around the globe. I've wandered aimlessly for hours, as far as 45 minutes away from my ship on foot. Zip, zilch, nada. It's past the point of frustrating now.

Free! Use transmission towers to find distress signals. Those distress signals lead you to crashed ships. Even if it's a 1 slot upgrade (from 25 to 26) take it. Transfer all of your stuff via the compare screen along with disassembling all of the mods from your old ship. It takes time but you can stay on one planet and just keep upgrading as you find more and more ships.

And only fix the Launch Thrust and Pulse Engine if you're going to continue farming. That's all you need for planetary travel.
