I really hope this is a false report. That being said, it's really strange the amount of "smoke" there's been around DGB. Wasn't he supposedly a really high character kid before he came up to Mizzou? (Yes, I realize I just made two pot "jokes" in the last two sentences on accident). I remember one of the reasons that he didn't come to Arkansas was because they felt like Mizzou had a better moral/character development than Arkansas (though maybe that was just code for Petrino is a slimeball).

Maybe he is too nice of a kid, and lets the wrong people hang around or gets talked into stupid shit. He is like 19/20.

it seems to be, unless the police are really taking their time in the investigation. Sounds like Carpenter jumped ahead with like 5th-party-hearsay.

He needs to keep his head down and make it through this year without incident... he's a millionaire come this time next year if he can do that.

I don't have an issue with him smoking up, other than doing it somewhere other than his home/residence. Driving around while doing that is dumb, but I have no moral issue with it (and don't think it's a sign of bad character or anything).

The arrest earlier this year sounds like a case of jumping in a friend's car and not knowing the contents of the vehicle.

Well, he grew up in STL, but was adopted by the Hillcrest High School football coach in Springfield before his freshman year. Arkansas fans were kind of mad that DGB said Mizzou "felt like home", because Fayetteville is closer to Springfield, but DGB was only there for several years.

He's now closer to the types that made him and his brother leave STL in the first place, and they probably have more of an influence on him now. It's a shame, too - he's a hell of a football player, perennial Pro Bowl level if he keeps his brain straight.

I think he will. To my knowledge, he still has his support system in Springfield intact, and this is another situation where Mizzou's stability is a plus.

Yeah, I had the same problem until I got back to my desktop. It's a video of Natereace Strong, RB from East St. Louis saying he's going to go to Mizzou. It would be nice if people would post a one line description when they post a video like that.

I don't think those "types" have anything to do with either of the actual incidents in which he's gotten in trouble.

The first was with a car full of teammates, at the practice facility (and if it had been the local police rather than MU police "arresting" would have been a misdemeanor from the start, with no bookings or arrest, just a simple ticket).

The second was in Springfield, over break, with friends from the Springfield area.
