Did Tony Stewart Kill Someone Tonight?

I'm seeing it on Twitter. On my phone and can't link. One of his fans says he ran over someone on a yellow and should be arrested for it.

CP does a good job, often, of taking topics that somewhat intrigue me (like this one), and then after reading a few pages, takes all of that intrigue and flushes it down the toilet.

Kind of like Alex Smith. I can no longer read any Alex Smith threads because they are all awful.

Like his play on the field.

We could easily turn this thread into an Alex Smith sucks thread.

From F1:

The Sprint Car Cockpit
Quote:
Once in the car, the seating position is upright, similar to sitting in a dining chair. Braced back hard into the seat by the 5-point harness, the driver has limited movement. Vision is poor, the high bonnet of the car and the front wing, obscure sight of the front of the car and the driver is usually unable to see the front wheels.

Sprint Car Tires
Quote:
"Sprint Cars have a once-piece rear axle connecting the left and right wheels and do not have differentials, therefore if the rear tires were the same size, the driver would probably end up in the fence! The amount of stagger used varies from around 11-20 inches (27.94-50.8 cm), depending on track conditions. On a tacky or hooky track more stagger is required, on a dry or slick track less stagger is needed. Other considerations for the amount of stagger is the size of the track, a small track will require more stagger than a large track. The banking of a track is also another factor that should be considered, high banked tracks will require more stagger than flat tracks. It is difficult to control these cars while running at caution speeds. The stagger is trying to shove the car to the left. The entire car is designed to maximize drive off of the right rear."

From this slow motion version it certainly looks like the rear end of the car starts to fishtail to the right before hitting Ward.

This video is pretty interesting too, it shows the trajectories and positions of the Stewart's car and the car right before him that missed:

From this video it sure seems like the kid got right in Stewart's path.

Oh look a human life in front of me. I'm going 35 MPH and I'm not quite sure I can avoid him at this high rate of speed. Only way to get around this young human being is to stomp on the gas just inches away from him, I'm sure I'll just pass him with no problem. Oh shit did I run this son of bitch over? Quick think Tony think. I got it, he was wearing black so I couldn't see him, boom.

Yeah ****ing right people.

Didn't mean to kill the guy, just meant to ruffle his feathers a bit. Tony probably forgot to account for the gigantic right rear tire. As I said earlier...my buddy punched a guy in college and the dude fell and died. It was a freak accident. My friend in no way intended to kill the guy. He did something wreckless and driven by temper and testosterone and now he is no longer a free man. The law doesn't give a **** whether or not you meant to. Run a red light and kill a pedestrian? Sorry, go directly to jail. Do not pass go.

Unless you've got deep pockets and a famous name. Then you can do whatever you want. Stab a guy. Kill your wife. Knock out your fiancé on camera. Steal some crab legs. Rob a house and shove a chick down a flight of stairs. Rape a few chicks. Hell, Aaron Hernandez had to kill a few dudes before he got caught. Some people in the world are held to different standards than us common folk, and that sucks.
