Bridgewater Pro Day - "Average At Best"
Teddy Bridgewater, who did not throw at the NFL combine had his Pro Day yesterday.
Reports are he was "underwhelming" and "shaky" at best missing routine NFL type passes, fluttering balls and accuracy issues. Could be that he felt the pressure of being under the microscope as a few head coaches and a plethora of media were there. Or maybe he's just not that good. You decide. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap200...verage-at-best http://nfl.si.com/2014/03/17/teddy-b...014-nfl-draft/ http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/stor...johnny-manziel http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/n...lay-for-scouts http://q.usatoday.com/2014/03/17/liv...aters-pro-day/ Last edited by houstonwhodat; 03-18-2014 at 08:03 AM.. |

Yep. The Texans were less than impressed and its not a smoke screen. The "average at best" description was kind. Word is he was not able to make all the throws and had poor technique, footwork and accuracy at a pro day tailored for him. I'm not surprised. He always seemed to be built up to me.

Texans need to draft Manziel but I don't think they have the balls. Bridgewater = Geno Smith 2.0 Last edited by houstonwhodat; 03-18-2014 at 08:03 AM.. |

To bank they do but I bet they go Clowney as he represents the "safest" bet. Manzeil has issues too though nerves are not one of them. Dude lives for pressure. The QB the Texans like the best is Bortles. They love his size, arm strength and upside. If they go Qb, I bet he's their guy.

I say pick Manziel and let him do his thing. He's a smart kid. He will adjust his style to fit the NFL game. Texans won't do it though. Gutless. |

Yeah, he's smart and has that "IT factor" but there's just something about him I dont trust. He showed a lot of immaturity getting to the top, along with a lot of talent, and he did improve from year 1 to year 2. I think one more year in college would have done him well. I know he's a winner and has guts, I just think they're gonna go splat when he tries to do "his thing" in the NFL. If I were going QB at 1.1, Id go Bortles instead but would not dog anyone out who would go with Manzeil.

Forget Bridgewater, I want Jimmy Garoppolo to be the Raiders QB pick

The answer looks simple enough. Don't take Bridgewater at 1.1

Yep. His pro day suggests he's not 1st round talent more so than Geno Smith's did last year...

So much for Bridgewater being a no-doubt No. 1 overall candidate (which was the thought on this board at this time last year). EDIT: And if he fell to No. 23, I'd still look at it long and hard if I'm KC. If you like him and he's there, take him.
