How many Chiefs players live in KC?
Just curious. I have no idea. Do Chiefs players live in the area year round? Do they rent apartments and then go elsewhere in the offseason? What neighborhoods do they live in?

In Denver, I think some of the established veterans buy homes, but I don't know about the guys who come in as late-career free agents or about rookies or guys lower on the roster.

Educate me on the process of living conditions for Chiefs players. Who lives there year round? Who has houses? Who rents? Does anybody commute from another city outside the metro area?

I would imagine more of the later rd drafted guys, UDFA type guys that don't make as much or league min, would live in KC area, but the ones that make multi-millions probably have other homes around the country.

There are a few Royals and Chiefs players in Lakewood and a couple also live out in Lee's Summit. I've seen quite a few out in downtown Lee's Summit at one time or another.

you'd have to think the players with wives/kids are more prone to have a permanent residency cause of those obligations

the guys that are single can **** off back to their beaches and resorts in the offseason

I have only anecdotal evidence, but I used to date the daughter of a local wealthy businessman... he had a home in Mission Hills and a penthouse apt overlooking the plaza. He rented the apartment out to DAMMIT CARL for a couple years, and to a couple Royals after that. Many of them have houses here, but some just rent nice apartments during the season.

I believe I read somewhere that the Chiefs have some arrangement to maintain some apartments/condos around town for players needing a place during the season--available to anyone, but usually used by rookies and guys brought in on short notice. The players do actually have to pay rent on these or it would cause compensation/salary cap issues.
