Any MB suggestions

I would like to build a desktop PC. Not wanting to build a hotrod/gaming machine.
Just a fast Win10/Office/Chrome with SD drive. I have an older case that supports the Micro ATX form motherboard. Am asking for opinions on make/model etc of MB to start with.

well you mentioned it so I was kind of sticking with that theme, and TBH, it costs less, and for what you are doing I dont think you will see any downsides at all. You just dont need the features of a full size board to surf the web and do pictures and shit.

the last build I posted is good enough to do photoshop, and other types of processor intensive stuff if you wish.

Im sooo itching to build a ryzen system but I want to wait and see what happens in q1 2018 with processors.

Costco has a really nice deal on a Ryzen 7 1700X with an RX 570 and a [small] SSD (128 GB) for $799. Dad needed a new computer and I made him pull the trigger on that.

I am excited for 2018 as well, though.

Thanks hometeam, I knew once he said what he wanted you would take it from there.

To the OP
Yes a small SSD and a big ass HDD and back up drive is the way to go. I have 8GB backed up on 4 drives.

Sit back and be cool as MB's and Processors will be going down soon or should with Ryzen coming out.

Thanks again. I had a figured I would get sound advice here. I appreciate your experiences and knowledge. Now it's off to read up on Ryzen.

For what you want, and your budget, you are going to get more power from a Ryzen processor with a low end GPU.

The intel low end offerings start at about a mid level ryzen and have about half as much multi threaded performance dollar for dollar

I need to check this out I have an older Alienware ware unit and I am staring to wander what I am missing. It's a killer unit but I am sure Ryzen will make it a turd...
