It's a New Year, and with new recruits coming in and some actual expectations for the coming season, it seemed the right time to start a new thread.

Dude, seriously just shut up about it. He's been here what 2.....3 years? Give it time. If Weis turns out to be a mistake (and yes I realize that is looking very likely) then he will fix it. I'm not a big fan of the TV deal, but he isn't as bad as some other recent ADs KU has had. And I think he could turn out to be a pretty good one when all is said and done.

Weis is crap and was a very poor hire. His coaching has been awful and his recruiting mediocre at best. It was a major mistake not only to hire him, but to give him such a large contract.

I think Zenger realized that it was a gamble. Try to remember where KU was prior to Weis's hire. Gill really screwed up the program. Now Weis isn't proving to be a very good coach, I'll give you that. But his name and the some of the coaching staff I believe has had a positive impact on recruiting.

The bottom line is that we're stuck with Weis for at least another year or two. Perhaps his team will improve a lot in the area of talent and then the next guy will excel with that talent left by Chuck.

Let me know when we what it takes to attract Meyer or Saban.

Facts are this: Right now KU Football has the best team GPA it's ever had. The disciplinary problems are as close to non-existent as they've ever been. We got rid of the trouble makers. At times under Gill, you'd have 50 guys cutting the same class. This past month there was one instance of a player being 4 minutes late, and he had to run til he puked.

We're starting over. Gill didn't recruit to Big 12 level, and his strength and conditioning coach was a joke. We let a nationally awarded strength and conditioning coach slide over to KSU. I guess he's doing a good job over there (derp!). Our new S&C coach is getting it done, but we still have a ways to go to consistently compete. Our o-line is a patchwork. We need more time to work with the horses, and get new horses. Bragg could be a four-year starter when he comes in at center. We could see some sophomores working into starting roles on O next year.

Somebody gave me some crap about backing Weis and his contract. I told him this - "Name one coach with an equal or better resume that would come to KU without demanding a 5 year guaranteed contract". I'm still waiting on his answer. Only name that popped up was Phil Fulmer... and he had been out of work for 3 years, and still hasn't gone back to coaching football.

We needed a disciplinarian. We have one. Grades are up, the players aren't embarrassing the University by getting in trouble on Mass. The streak is over. We've found a mobile QB who can evade pressure.

I'm more than happy to gave Charlie another year or two.

Ouch. It's supposed to be 34 here Saturday for a High School Substate game. But there is a big difference between 34 and 12.
