The urinals in Docking State Office Building intimidate me
I'm not exactly sure how they are supposed to be used. If you've ever gone to the restroom in Docking State Office Building, I'm sure you know exactly what I am talking about.
The look more like bidets than urinals...and then they have this footlong "trough" that extends out from the "bowl." I'm not exactly sure if you are supposed to straddle the trough thing and pee in the primary bowl. Perhaps it is designed (by &) for 1970s era pornstars. Maybe the trough was put in place as a line of demarcation with the idea that hippies would have group pees at the bowl, you know--in grade school little boys would have "sword fights"--could it be that it was still a popular and socially acceptable thing for adults to do when these urinals were installed? I don't think I'm alone in my intimidation. I have quite a few meetings in Docking so I use the restroom on occasion, and I have never seen or heard of anyone actually using the urinals there before. I've given it the old college try a few times just out of curiosity. Maybe the trough is like a landing strip for when the pee stream dies down. Anyway, they are the weirdest urinals I have ever seen. |
