The guy throws for 270 yards and 2 TD a game. I'll take him, thanks.

That's because Alex doesn't compensate for turnovers with big plays.

There are very few turnovers to compensate for. Our Qb throws that many picks and our defense goes to quite average due to short fields, being out there a lot more etc. see 2012 chiefs. Our defense suffered a lot due to Cassel and Quinn throwing picks all the time.

I don't think smith is the answer at qb. I'll be disappointed if there's no competitor next year. But if you are gonna play defensive, ball control football, smith is about all we could have gotten this year. We definitely need an upgrade soon. I'd rather have 30 year old smith we know we need to replace than get saddled with a stiff like Dalton and overpay for him

Dalton isn't a stiff.

Throwing for 270 yards and 2 TD per game, in your third year in the league, is good stuff.

I guarantee you this fan base would jizz over a guy like that in red.

Dalton is poised to be that QB that never makes it to the 2nd round of playoffs, so when the Bengals finally get tired of losing those games he'll be right here in KC.

Shame AJ Green wont be coming with.

I bet Adam Dunn is your favorite baseball player. Sure, his average is awful and he strikes out a ton, but he hits a nice long ball.

That's 21 guys I consider to be superior to Alex Smith.

Now lean forward and choke yourself.
Now, hold on, friend. Earlier in this thread it was concretely established that Flacco and Ryan weren't good enough to compare Smith's stats with, so those two are out. (I'm assuming that your clones speak for you, which will probably not help things.) So, that's 19.

Kaepernick? Really? He's suffering from backup qb syndrome -- after 4-6 games there's enough video of him that defenses have him figured out. So that's 18.

Foles is still in the 4-6 week backup honeymoon.

I would like to hear your justification for Tannehill, Locker, Dalton, and possibly Newton. Obviously, you need to avoid using words like "potentional" for this discussion.

No, they're not. That's someone else's opinion, not mine.

Flacco and Ryan both have more playmaking ability and are more accomplished NFL veterans.

Game over for Alex.

The fact you think I need to provide justification for Cam ****ing Newton over Alex D. Smith is hilarious.

Just accept the facts: Alex will retire with one career playoff win which you will be spankin' it to for eternity.

Shitting all over a career 861OPS

If Alex Smith were a baseball player he'd be a good obp guy. Draw a lot of walks. He's not a playmaking QB, and there are 18 or so QBs that I'd rather have, but that's a pointless conversion. Would you rather have Dalton? Or Newton? Well those weren't options so irrelevant. I still say Smith is and was the best option via trade FA or draft this year.

Best option for what exactly? I mean Cassel proved he could lead a team to 8+ wins and s first round blowout loss which is the same thing Smith is doing now.

Come on. Are all you guys idiots? Cassel can't start on a bad team that has no QB. I listen to Minnesota sports radio and the bitch about why couldn't they have traded for Smith. You think they're the same?
